EVART – Evart Elementary School students and their parents were encouraged to snuggle up with a good book at a Family Night held Thursday.

With a theme of “bedtime stories,” students came dressed in pajamas, were given milk and cookies and could visit several classrooms to hear books read aloud by teachers.

Parents were given tips on making reading part of the family’s routine. Reading aloud with a child helps establish a strong parent-child relationship, opens the line of communication, builds listening skills and attention span and helps children develop the ability to read on their own more quickly.
