EVART -- The Evart Car Club has canceled the 2020 Evart Car Show, scheduled for Sept. 5.

"It is with deep disappointment that we announce the cancellation of the 2020 Evart Car Show," ECC president Doug Trembath said. "After much discussion and deliberation, the executive board has decided to cancel the show."

The coronavirus, social distancing and many related ramifications are some of the reasons for the cancellation, he stated in an email.

"Unfortunately, this action will severely hinder our ability to contribute to our community partners this year," Trembath said. "Our most important obligation is the health and safety of our members, those who show cars, and the public at large as spectators."

The Evart Car Club will remain active in the community and there will be a 2021 car show. Once the stay at home order terminates, they will resume regular meetings, car cruises and other activities, he added.

"We do have scholarship money available for students interested in advancing in the automotive field," Trembath said.

The Evart Car Club is open to new members and car ownership is not required. Dues are $10 a year, or $12 a year for member and spouse. Dues and donations with contact information can be sent to Evart Car Club, PO Box 574, Evart, MI 49631.
