REED CITY — Cassie Enos established her softball credentials for Reed City this spring as a sophomore.

“But she’s working on being even better as a junior.

Enos belted a home run earlier in the season.

“After I hit that, I went into a hitting slump,” she said. “Then I got it back up. You have to find the little things. Even if it’s a little thing, you have to find out what’s wrong with it and work on it so it’s not wrong anymore.”

For the Coyotes, who won 24 games in 2018 and were Division 3 champions for the second straight season, Enos played outfield, especially a lot of times in right.

She anticipates playing outfield again and feels she’s strong in all areas of her defense. Her arm and glove have both been consistent.

Enos has been playing with the Reed City Rage, the Coyotes’ summer team. The Coyotes graduated several seniors and Enos hopes to pick up the slack.

“I want to keep working on my hitting,” she said.

Reed City wraps up its summer season with a doubleheader on Wednesday at Big Rapids.
