EVART — Elvis was in the house last week as Operation Homefront held a fundraiser at Schmidty’s in Evart. Elvis tribute artist, Jake Slater, put on a great show last Wednesday at Schmidty’s, with funds raised going toward support of Operation Homefront’s continuing efforts in support of service personnel and their families throughout the State of Michigan. Operation Homefront provides emergency financial help and other assistance to the families of service members and wounded warriors. Every penny raised within the State of Michigan stays ‘in house’ help provide helping hand to those who served their nation and their families left behind. During the show in Evart, members of the National Guard Armory in Cadillac were on hand with one of their combat ready vehicles offering those attending a chance to get a good look at some impressive military gear. Organizer Linda Long was grateful for the outpouring of support and public participation. “People have been great throughout this project,” she said. “Everyone, everyone has been so helpful.”
