EPS approves out-of-state student trip, hires teacher
EVART – Kevin Mills will take his place on the Evart Public Schools staff next week after the board of education approved his hire during a meeting on Monday.
Mills will fill a vacancy for a math and science teacher at Evart High School; a long-term sub was filling the position while the district selected a teacher.
Also at the meeting, the board went into closed session to finalize a contract with support staff. The contract, which will expire on Dec. 31, 2013, kept support staff’s salaries the same and switched their insurance carrier to a less expensive company. EPS employs more than 20 support staff members.
In other business:
● A proposal for Evart Middle School students to take a trip to Chicago in June received approval; and
● The board held its organization meeting, electing the same officers as had previously served. No new board members were elected in November.
The board will meet again at 7 p.m. on Feb. 11 at the board room in the middle school.
