REED CITY — It's been 17 years since donkeys have stepped onto the Reed City Area Public Schools' gymnasium floor.

But on Nov. 6, four teams consisting of students, RCAPS faculty, RCAPS coaches and community members mounted donkeys and did their best to play the game of basketball as part of a fundraiser for the RCHS class of 2016. Money from ticket sales was put toward prom, according to class advisors Betty Kichak and Todd Grothe.

The animals arrived via Buckey Donkey Ball, which hails from Orient, Ohio, a company the district has used the company in the past.

The event provided laughs and entertainment for all ages and ended with a student win.
