Wheatlake Cancer Center receives gifts toward $2.4 million goal

REED CITY — The Spectrum Health Reed City Hospital “Bringing Hope Closer to Home” capital campaign recently received two more donations toward the $2.4 million goal to help build the Susan P. Wheatlake Regional Cancer Center and meet the region’s cancer care needs well into the future. SHRCH employees presented a $73,636 check to Karl Linebaugh and Sheri Thompson, co-chairs of the capital campaign. The staff also plans to raise funds internally for the next two years and are on pace to give more than $100,000. Chemical Bank also generously donated to the campaign. Linebaugh, who also serves as a regional president for Chemical Bank presented the gift and cited the importance of this historic fundraising effort to fight cancer.
