Crossroads Harmony Chorus, PRHS Choirs to combine for holiday show

LEROY — Reed City’s Sweet Adeline Chorus will join forces with students from Pine River High School for a combined holiday show.

The concert is planned for 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 29, at Pine River Elementary School, located at 408 W. Gilbert St.,in LeRoy, at the newly updated elementary school stage.

There is no admission charge but voluntary donations can be made in support of both choirs.

The title of the show is “Sing Hey!”, based on a traditional old English Christmas greeting song. The program will be filled with well-known songs like “Winter Wonderland” and “Coventry Carol,” as well as the lively and fun numbers, “The Night Before Christmas – Chopsticks Style” and “Jingle Bell Rock.”

The concert features performances by the PRHS Choir and Honors Choir. They will be joined by Crossroads Harmony Chorus of Sweet Adelines for holiday favorites sung in a cappella barbershop style. In addition, the “On Fire” Quartet will sing. All the singers will combine to sing “Carol of the Bells” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.”

The Pine River choirs are led by Jessica Gardner, who serves as longtime band and choir director at PRHS. Crossroads Harmony Chorus has been serving audiences in the community for 13 years. The Sweet Adelines are directed by Jim Whitten.
