Coyotes set for annual Homecoming

REED CITY — It’s time for the Coyotes and their supporters to shine.

A very busy week of Reed City High School Homecoming activities began on Monday this week, and planners are sure Coyote fans will be enthusiastically displaying their colors and spirit.

The Coyote Homecoming game will be held Friday, but before the gridiron action even begins, there’s a lot to do.

Spirit Week kicked off with a ton of fun for students, staff and supporters alike.

One way to get the entire community involved is the now-annual Downtown Decorating Contest.

Businesses are encouraged to festoon storefront windows with Coyote colors and theme decorations to win recognition during the Homecoming game.

The theme for both the decorating contest and parade this year is “A Night In Paradise.”

For students, Monday was Pajama Day with lots of fun all day long.

Tuesday is Class Color Day with kids putting on competitive colors and showing off their tattoos (temporary ones, don’t worry!). Also on Tuesday, there will be court announcements following elections the previous day.

Wednesday is Twin Day with students being encouraged to pair up and come as twins. Wednesday also is the day to enjoy the now traditional Powder Puff football game and the community bonfire — a great way for the hole family to pep up. The game begins at 7 p.m. and the bonfire will be lit afterwards.

Thursday is Beach Day — whether the sun is out or not!

Friday is Red and Black Day with Coyote colors being the dress of the day. The Homecoming Parade will also wind its way through the streets of Reed City beginning at 4:15 p.m.

And then … the BIG GAME with the Coyotes facing White Cloud at 7 p.m.

There’s a lot to do during Spirit Week — for students and residents alike.

Don’t miss out on the fun.
