Conservation districts seek board candidates
MECOSTA AND OSCEOLA COUNTIES — The Osceola-Lake and Mecosta Conservation Districts are seeking candidates to serve on their board of directors for a four-year term.
Two director positions are open on the Osceola-Lake Conservation District Board, and one director position is open on the Mecosta Conservation District Board. To serve on the Osceola-Lake Conservation District Board, candidates must be a resident of Osceola County or the east half of Lake County. To serve on the Mecosta Conservation District Board, candidates must be a resident of Mecosta County.
Candidates must submit a petition signed by at least five residents of the district. A resident is an individual of legal age who can verify their age by one piece of identification.
Nominating petitions are available at either conservation district office. The deadline for nominating petitions is 4 p.m. on July 27. Election results will be announced at the district’s annual meeting, scheduled for Sept. 28 at the Paris Park Fish Hatchery.
