Conservation district seeks board candidates
MECOSTA COUNTY —The Osceola-Lake and Mecosta Conservation Districts are seeking candidates to serve on their board of directors.
There is one director position open on the Osceola-Lake Conservation District Board and two director positions open on the Mecosta Conservation District Board. Director positions are four-year terms.
To serve on the Osceola-Lake Conservation District Board, candidates must be a resident of Osceola County or the east half of Lake County. To serve on the Mecosta Conservation District Board, candidates must be a resident of Mecosta County.
Candidates must submit a petition signed by at least five residents of the district. A resident is an individual of legal age who can verify this by one piece of identification. Nominating petitions are available in either District office.
The deadline for nominating petitions is 4 p.m. on Aug. 4. Election results will be announced at the district’s annual meeting, which will be held on Oct. 3 at the Paris Park Fish Hatchery.
