REED CITY — It’s hard not to notice.

The Christmas holiday season is closing in fast.

Thanksgiving Day will soon be history. The Evergreen Festival will soon be another fond memory.

But ... there’s a lot more coming up.

Strong on the docket is the annual Reed City Chamber of Commerce Open House.

This annual Open House will be held Thursday, December 8, at the Reed City Depot, from 5-7 p.m.

“Festivities will include a Silent Auction along with raffles for special prizes,” reported Chamber executive director Suzie WIlliams.

“While admission is free, donations will be accepted for Reed City’s Wayfinding Sign Project.”

One of the ever popular ‘happenings’ during the Open House, the Silent Auction gives folks a chance to do a little early holiday shopping - if they’re lucky and win the bid.

All auction items have been donated to the Reed City Area Chamber of Commerce by members and friends in Reed City and the surrounding communities.

“Please consider donating an item for the Silent Auction,” noted Williams. “Your support is appreciated and your business name will be displayed along with the item donated.

The Christmas Open House committee will be contacting businesses for donations, or they may call the Chamber Office to donate at 832-5431.”

Organizers hope folks will join with others from the community in celebrating the Spirit of the Season.

“Enjoy Christmas cheer, warm soups, crusty breads, and delicious desserts provided by our local restaurants,” added Williams.

“Join your community in celebrating the spirit of the season.”

The annual Christmas party is among a number of exciting things happening in the Reed City area. For more information, visit www.reedcitycrossroads.com or call the chamber office at (231) 832-5431.
