Chamber gears up for annual golf scramble with '70s theme
REED CITY — Warmer weather means it's time for hitting the greens, and the Reed City Area Chamber of Commerce board members hope all golf lovers will join them for their annual golf outing.
This year's scramble is set to begin with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, at Spring Valley Golf Course, located at 18396 U.S. 10. Golfers are asked to be to the course by 9 a.m.
"It’s always a great day of fun and networking on the golf course," said Suzie Williams, Reed City Area Chamber of Commerce executive director. "We look forward to the golf outing to get outside and enjoy the spring weather with friends and co-workers."
For $70 per person or $280 per team, players can enjoy 18 holes with a cart, lunch and a steak dinner. Drinks can be purchased on the course. Tee signs are $50 and sponsorships are still available as well, Williams added.
The public and chamber members are invited to take part in the scramble, with this year's theme being a 1970s "get your golf groove on." Attendees are encouraged to wear their best '70s gear. Prizes will be handed out to the best dressed team.
In the event of rain, the golf outing will be moved to Friday, June 19.
