Center Lake Bible Camp hosts living Nativity

TUSTIN — Living Nativities are one way to add Christmas magic to the season and volunteers at Center Lake Bible Camp in Tustin will do their best to create such an atmosphere for all families.

Follow the Star, a free live Nativity event, is in its 16th year. The three-day event will take place from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5, Saturday, Dec. 6, and Sunday, Dec. 7. It takes place outdoors and requires walking, though wagon rides are available for those unable to walk. The length of the program is approximately 30 minutes.

About 60 to 70 volunteers help make the nativity enjoyable every year. It has become a tradition for families and the camp staff.

In addition to the Nativity, visitors have the opportunity to take part in a children’s craft, a free meal and a family portrait. The camp typically sees between 1,200 and 1,500 people during the weekend, depending on the weather. Visitors arrive from as far as Mount Pleasant, Ludington and Midland.
