By Patty Esch Cargill Hersey Communications Specialist HERSEY\u00a0\u2014\u00a0The Cargill Cares Team, from the Cargill Hersey Salt\u00a0Mining Facility, had the pleasure of donating a check in\u00a0the amount of $10,000 to Reed City High School for\u00a0the purchase of graphing calculators. Monty Price, principal of Reed City High School, came\u00a0to the facility to accept the check presented by Karl\u00a0Tomaszewski, Plant Manager. "We have hundreds of kids who don\u2019t have access to\u00a0that technology,"\u00a0said Price, upon receiving the check. "This is going to really help those kids.\u00a0It will put these calculators in all of the math classes" The Cargill Hersey facility has a team of volunteers\u00a0dedicated to providing community support in the way\u00a0of monetary donations and volunteer projects. A representative from the high school math\u00a0department submitted a donation request to the Cargill Cares Team for the purchase of\u00a0graphing calculators to be used in every math class. Price was surprised and excited to hear of the donation approval. "This was such a pleasant\u00a0surprise," he said. "It is going to touch a lot of lives. You guys are No. 1 in our hearts." "We were looking for the right opportunity and this was a perfect fit,"\u00a0Tomaszewski stated.
