Cancer survivors, experts to share stories during radiothon

REED CITY — Spectrum Health Foundation and Big Country 100.9 are teaming up for a second year to bring the Fighting Cancer Together Radiothon to radio airwaves.

Sponsored by Meijer, the Radiothon will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 15, and Thursday, Oct. 16, at Crankers Brewery in Big Rapids. Big Rapids Radio Network personalities Brian Goodenow and Bill Beckwith will interview physicians, nurses, dietitians, wellness experts and cancer survivors that have been impacted by the disease. People will share their heartfelt stories and tips for wellness and preventative care. The public is being asked to tune their dials to 100.9 to listen and call in with their own personal pledges of any amount.

All proceeds from this two-day fundraising event will support the Susan P. Wheatlake Regional Cancer Center in Reed City. For more information on sponsorships, call Spectrum Health Foundation at (231) 832-6659.
