Burchett sentenced for home invasion, larceny
REED CITY — A McBain man who pleaded guilty last month to larceny and home invasion charges was sentenced Friday in Osceola County's 49th Circuit Court.
Daniel Scott Burchett, 21, was sentenced to one year in prison with 248 days credit. His sentence will run concurrent and not exceed sentences from Wexford and Missaukee counties, which he is currently serving.
In August, Burchett pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree home invasion, and also one count of larceny in a building in a separate case.
Between Feb. 17 and Feb. 19 in Sherman Township, Burchett used a credit card to break into a locked home and took liquor and gas cans. In that same time period, in Highland Township, he stole a leaf blower from a barn.
Burchett is serving time at the Pugsley Correctional Facility in Kingsley after being sentenced in June on breaking and entering charges.
According to the Michigan Department of Corrections website, in Wexford County, Burchett was charged with attempted breaking and entering and sentenced to one year and six months to seven years and six months. In Missaukee County, he was charged with breaking and entering with intent and sentenced to two years and four months to 10 years.
