Booher hosts Smith-Olson at State of the State

STATE OF THE STATE: Deb Smith-Olson, Lake-Osceola State Bank chair and CEO (left), joined Sen. Darwin Booher, R-Evart, on Wednesday at the Capitol in Lansing for Gov. Rick Snyder’s 2013 State of the State address. In his address, Snyder outlined a plan to improve Michigan’s infrastructure. Also during the address, the governor called for creating a new Department of Insurance and Financial Services. “As a former banker and chair of the Senate Banking and Financial Institutions Committee, I am intrigued with the governor’s idea,” Booher said. “I am hopeful that this new department will benefit both Michigan consumers and the industry with more streamlined oversight and positive advocacy for a sector that is growing and creating good Michigan jobs.” (Courtesy photo)
