BIG RAPIDS, REED CITY - Spectrum staff and the community are invited to honor and remember those who have served their country during the Spectrum Health Big Rapids and Reed City hospitals Veterans Day ceremonies Monday, Nov. 11.

The ceremonies will take place at 10 a.m. at the flag pole of the Big Rapids location, 605 Oak St., Big Rapids, and at 1 p.m. at the flag pole of the Reed City location, 300 N. Patterson Road, Reed City.

In addition to the ceremonies, Spectrum Health individually recognizes all employee veterans, as well as veteran residents in the hospital's rehab and nursing centers.

"What makes this event special is each year we highlight different employee veterans to share their experience and speak first hand as to why Veterans Day is important to them," Spectrum communications specialist Danielle Wells said. "Every veteran has a different story, and the connection of how their personal experience led them to their career in health care is inspirational."

Led by Spectrum Chief Nursing Officer Caroline Ring, along with a veteran employee, the ceremony will conclude with the raising of the flag. Following that, guests will have the opportunity to socialize with refreshments in the lobbies at both locations.

"The ceremonies are an event to recognize Spectrum Health staff, patients and community members who have served in the military," Wells said.
