Award-winning men's chorus to join Sweet Adelines for final holiday show

REED CITY — The Mountaintown Singers Men’s Chorus of Mount Pleasant is joining Reed City's Sweet Adeline Chorus to present a holiday show.

The award-winning harmony is coming to Reed City for the Sweet Adeline Chorus' final Christmas show of the season at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, located at 22275 Four Mile Road.

The Pine River High School Honors Choir also will be featured in this combined holiday show.

The audience will have the opportunity to win numerous door prizes and to participate in a 50/50 drawing. There is no admission charge but voluntary donations can be made in support of the choruses. This free performance is made possible in part through the generosity of area merchants and supporters.

The title of the show is “Sing Hey!” based on a traditional old English Christmas greeting song. The program will be filled with well-known songs like “Winter Wonderland” and “Coventry Carol,” as well as the lively and fun numbers “We Need a Little Christmas” and “Jingle Bell Rock.” Audience members also will be treated to these holiday favorites, and many more, sung in a cappella barbershop style. In addition, “On Fire” Quartet will sing. All the singers will sing “Carol of the Bells” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.”

Crossroads Harmony Chorus has been performing in the community for 13 years. The Sweet Adelines are directed by Jim Whitten. Jessica Gardner is the long-time band and choir director at PRHS. The Mountaintown Singers was organized in 2005.
