Art in the Park rolls on this summer
Calling all artists! Art in the Park is back again this summer at Rambadt park. Local businesses help to fund this program as part of Reed City’s Recreation Plan, which focuses on bringing a wide variety of recreational programs for all age groups. This will be Donna Wheelers 6th year organizing the event for community members of any age and artistic skill level.
“Today’s Artists is the theme for this summer. The focus will be on artists who have made an impact on today’s society. According to the latest news, there actually is a shortage of contemporary art. Andy Warhol, the artist who is most famous for his repeating art displays like the Campbell’s Soup Can art, just had a painting of Elizabeth Taylor sell for $30 million at auction. This type of art will be one of the projects presented. Each class will introduce another new artist along with a new skill. The Art in the Park series is a great way to have some FREE fun right here close to home. Set in beautiful Rambadt Park from 9 to 11 a.m., there’s still time to enjoy a walk along the trail before lunch. The schedule continues until the Crossroads Festival in August:
• July 2 — Paris Artists;
• July 23 — African Artists;
• Aug. 6 — Asian Artists; and
• Aug. 13 — Mardi Gras Art
Come join us at Art in the Park and express yourself through art. Mark your calendar with these dates for your very own “staycation.” It’s fun for the whole family where everyone is an artist.
