MARION — The date is set for a highly anticipated women’s event — the annual Ladies Spring Luncheon hosted by Marion Baptist Church.

This year’s luncheon will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 7.

During the last 30 years, hundreds of local women have attended the popular gatherings and enjoyed inspiring speakers, songs, music and good food.

The women’s church ministry group, BYKOTA, sponsors the annual luncheons. BYKOTA is an acronym formed from the words Be Ye Kind One To Another from Ephesians 4:32.

Traditionally, area women get a group together — inviting mothers, sisters, daughters, granddaughters, friends, neighbors and coworkers to join them for a spring outing.

The theme of the luncheon and topic of the uplifting devotion is “Learning Greater Trust.”

Other highlights include Peggy Hoard, well-known local writer, who will read her poem “Thank you, Mother,” published in the anthology “Best Poems of 2015.” Merry Cook, soloist, will sing hymns of worship.

Following the program, lunch will be served and all who attend are invited to join in the fellowship and fun, including challenging and entertaining quizzes, games and prizes.

All area women are welcome. There is no admission charge; advance reservations are not required.

Marion Baptist Church is located at 19909 40th Ave. in Marion. For further information, call Hoard at (231) 631-9970.
