REED CITY — All submissions are in for the 2021 edition of Reed City’s annual Residential Christmas Light Contest.
A total of 10 addresses in various locations throughout Osceola County have since been added to this year’s Christmas Light Contest road map, which allows residents to pay a visit to each one and see the displays.
Seven of these holiday hot spots can be found in Reed City, with the others located in Paris and Hersey, respectively.
Participants are expected to keep their lights on nightly through Dec. 25, with the winner expected to be announced on Dec. 30.
Although this year’s contest didn’t get as many submissions as in previous installments, Reed City Chamber of Commerce Coordinator Alanna McBee said she knows it’s something the community always looks forward to.
“We did have a little less this year, but we are still super excited about this,” McBee said. “I know there’s a lot of people who have decorated their houses that didn’t submit to the contest, so I believe people using this map are going to see a lot more than the 10 (houses) we have on there.”
Prizes of $100 RC CA$H will be awarded to the participant who has the best Polar Express display, the best animated/inflatable display, and the best lighted/creative display.
The road map can be found on the Reed City Chamber’s official Facebook page.
“This is going to be so much fun,” McBee said.
