Animals around the world

National Lutheran Schools week events rescheduled due to snowdays

REED CITY — Though school was canceled on three of the five days set aside for celebrating National Lutheran Schools Week, bad weather couldn’t dampen the fun Friday when some unique animals visited Trinity Lutheran School. In a presentation by Dynamic West school assembly group, students learned about and were able to pet animals including cockroaches from Madagascar, a plated lizard from Africa, a tiger salamander from the United States and other animals from around the world. Each month during National Lutheran School Week, the school hosts an assembly on Friday to wrap up the week of celebrating the school. Since scheduled activities such as a trip to Manistee on Monday and Grandparent’s Day on Tuesday were canceled, principal Sherry Prange said the school is planning to celebrate National Lutheran Schools Week again by re-scheduling the canceled events for the first week of March. The school will also have a dinner and auction on March 2 and an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. on March 3. Elsewhere in the school, students dressed to support their favorite sports teams as a scheduled dress up day for National Lutheran Schools Week.
