REED CITY — Due to the printing deadline for The Herald Review, we are unable to provide complete election results of Tuesday’s general election.

However, the Wednesday, Nov. 9, edition of Pioneer will have a complete listing of election winners, and results will be updated on bigrapidsnews.com and theheraldreview.com.

Besides the national election results for president, there are several contested races in Osceola County, with school board races at Reed City Area Public School, city council races for Reed City and Evart and a handful of township positions.

One unique race for voters is Osceola County Prosecutor. Current Prosecutor Tyler Thompson is on the ballot running unopposed. However, Gov. Rick Snyder recently appointed Thompason probate court judge for both Mecosta and Osceola counties. Former prosecutor James Sims II and Erin Carrier Barnhart are running as write-in candidates for the position, as well. Results for that race will be inconclusive until the board of canvassers certifies the election, which is expected Wednesday or Thursday, according to Osceola County Clerk Karen Bluhm.

There also are proposals voters will decide in Reed City, Evart Public Schools and five townships.

Results from Tuesday’s election are unofficial until the board of canvassers certify the results. Full results from the Tuesday, Nov. 8, election will be published in the Nov. 16 edition of the Herald Review.
