By Tasha VanDusen Michigain Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program Technician OSCEOLA COUNTY - For all farmers, food producers, and those interested in agriculture there are some learning opportunities occurring this month. The Great Lakes Fruit, Vegetable and Farm Market Expo is in Grand Rapids at the Devos Place Convention Center and the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel. It takes place December 4-6, 2012. There are four different tracks covered in the Expo: fruit educational sessions, vegetable educational sessions, farm market educational sessions, and greenhouse educational sessions. There are some general sessions too. Some of these sessions offer Restricted Use Pesticide points. The Expo offers more than 380 vendors to see firsthand new products for growers. The speakers will address topics including: land prices and rental values; commodity market updates; weather and it implications for agriculture; 2012 field trial results and a number of exhibitors! This is a major change from the paper forms. Irrigation Update classes are being offered December 10th in Coldwater and December 11 in Benton Harbor.
