REED CITY — Many girl soccer players who are returning next season will continue to work on their games to hopefully make for a memorable 2019.

This includes Reed City freshman Olivia Addington, who is among the Coyotes’ top returning players who will be returning next season.

She played a key role in the team’s turnaround season that ended in a 9-7 record. The biggest highlight may have been a 5-1 win over Manistee in the district tournament.

Addington had a goal in that game.

“I just beat the defender and beat the goalie one-one,” she said.

It was the first career goal for Addington and also a relief.

“This win and beating Tri County were the highlights of the season she said. “You have to keep playing and don’t give up.”

Since the season started, “we improved a lot,” Addington said. “We talk a lot, work good as a team. We pass, have good assists and don’t give up.”

She’s played since age 4. A lot of the freshmen on the team have played together. This factor should also help the team next season, Addington added.
