Letter: Thanks for a warm welcome

To the editor: My name is Eveline Van Loock and I am a Belgium exchange student. I arrived in Evart on the first of September 201, and have been staying with the Booher family and attending Evart High School. Since the school year will soon be over, I will be returning home to Belgium and attending to college. I am writing to you to express my thanks to everyone here who helped to make my experience so great. First and foremost, thanks must go to my generous hosts, Darwin and Jan Booher who opened their home to me. They made me fell like their real daughter this past year, and to them I will always be grateful. I truly can not imagine this year without them. They are amazing people who I love with my whole heart. Thanks, also, to everyone at Evart High School, especially to all my teachers, and the students who have helped me so much. They were a big support for me and an important piece of my stay here. I met so many nice students, and became really close friends with some of them. I hope we will stay in contact. I never thought I would say this but I feel like a real Wildcat. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank PAX (Program of Academic Exchange). It is an amazing experience that you can give to a student who is dreaming of coming here, and I can assure you as an host family it is an experience too. You will learn a lot about a new culture, and you will be a piece in somebody’s life. A piece in the building of a teenagers life. Finally, I would like to thank the people of Evart, who welcomed me into the community, and showed great interest and curiosity about me and my country, and did their best to make me feel at home away from home. I hope other PAX exchange students will have the opportunity I have had here in Evart. You are very special people and I will always remember you.
