REED CITY\u00a0\u2014 Reed City Area District Library officials are one step closer to moving forward with their plan to renovate and move into the new library building, located on Chestnut Street. During a meeting held by the RCADL Board on Sept. 14, Wakefield Construction was unanimously selected\u00a0to renovate the new library located at the former St. Philip Neri School site. The building also was previously home to the administrative offices of the Reed City school district. Construction is set to begin soon with completion scheduled for the second quarter of 2016. "We\u2019re so pleased to be moving forward with great partners as we work to offer\u00a0the very best library services to all of our district residents," said Christine Cox, RCADL board\u00a0president. Through a competitive proposal process, Lake Osceola State Bank was identified as the low\u00a0bidder with lending terms for the project. "This is a very exciting development for library services in the Reed City area," said library director Symon Bassett. "There has\u00a0been a lot of community support for this renovation project and we look forward to\u00a0diversifying services and meeting patron needs in a great new location." In celebration of the project, a groundbreaking ceremony will take place at 7:15 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 28, at the building site, located at\u00a0829 S. Chestnut. The library continues to actively raise money and seek donations in support of the renovation\u00a0project.
