Submitted to the Herald Review EVART\u00a0\u2014\u00a0For the past 20 years, Debra Vincent (EHS, \u201981) has\u00a0been positively influencing the lives of her students in the Evart Public School\u00a0District. This year the fifth\/sixth grade math teacher from Evart Middle School\u00a0has been selected as the OPIE Award winner for the 2015-16 school year. The\u00a0following is an excerpt from her qualifying award nomination: "The atmosphere in\u00a0Mrs. Vincent\u2019s classroom and the teaching\/learning going on in this environment\u00a0is one of the reasons she is so highly admired. The concern and care that she\u00a0takes to individualize relationships with each and every student makes her among\u00a0the best of our educators. She not only teaches in her assigned grade levels, but\u00a0she also works with students from other grade levels as a math support specialist.\u00a0Mrs. Vincent can be found after school tutoring not only her assigned students,\u00a0but also students from former years. The students and their parents see her for\u00a0expert help. She shows dedication and commitment to the students by\u00a0partnering with their parents in order to have a great relationship between home\u00a0and school. Mrs. Vincent\u2019s professionalism is beyond measure."
