SWORN IN: State Sen. Darwin Booher, R-Evart, was sworn in as senator of the 35th district on Jan. 14 by Michigan Supreme Court Chief Justice Robert P. Young, Jr. during a ceremony at the state Capitol. Booher, who was reelected last November, was joined in the Senate chamber by his family for the occasion. \u201cI am honored to again serve the residents of the 35th Senate District, and I thank them for their support as we work together to make Michigan a great place to live, work and raise a family,\u201d said Booher. \u201cI look forward to continuing the great work we started over the next four years.\u201d In addition to continuing as chair of the Senate Banking and Financial Institutions Committee, Booher also announced that he will serve on the agriculture, appropriations, and education committees. He will also serve as chair of the appropriations subcommittees on capital outlay and community colleges, and as a member of the general government and natural resources subcommittees.
