REED CITY — The annual Michigan Week Dinner is set to take place this week.

This year’s event, hosted by the Reed City Area Chamber of Commerce, will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, at Reed City High School. Dinner will be offered by Pere Marquette Catering and feature a main dish, sides, desserts and beverages. The cost to attend is $25.

The evening’s biggest highlight is recognizing those in the city who have made an extra effort to help others.

The Citizen of the Year award will be given to an individual who has made a positive impact on Reed City, and lives, works or volunteers in the city. Business of the Year will be awarded to an established, for-profit company that shows evidence of contributions to community-oriented projects. A Student of the Year award also will be presented to a local teen.

In addition to the awards, a community-focused talk will be given by Maria Gonzalez, foundation manager of the Fremont Area Community Foundation, with which the Osceola County Community Foundation is affiliated.
