Theunick benefit set for Friday

EVART — A benefit for local farmer Mike Theunick will allow the community of Evart to help one of their own.

Theunick was severely injured during a farming accident on Feb. 24, sustaining nine broken ribs, a broken pelvis and ankle. After days in the hospital and a rehabilitation center, he is now resting at home, though he still has a long road to recovery.

A benefit event is slated to take place from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 17, at the Community Building within the Osceola County 4-H FFA Fairgrounds. A spaghetti dinner will be offered for a monetary donation and will include spaghetti and meal balls, garlic bread, dessert and beverages.

A number of donated silent auction items will be up for grabs throughout the evening as well, and a live auction with auctioneer Andy Lattimore will begin at 7 p.m. More than 40 prizes already have been collected, including a rifle, refrigerator, gift certificates, items from Ferris State University and more.

All proceeds will assist Theunick’s medical expenses.
