OSCEOLA COUNTY — Members of the Sweet Adelines will take the stage again this weekend.

The shows will begin with a baked potato bar dinner at 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 28, and Saturday, Aug. 29. The Friday event will take place in St. Paul Lutheran Church in Reed City. On Saturday, the show will move to Evart Free Methodist Church.

Their unique style of singing is called “a cappella” and is based on the Barbershop Harmony tradition. You might be astonished to hear how these gals can make powerful music without a piano or other instrument playing along. The group was organized over 10 years ago and has been directed by Evart resident, Jim Whitten, since 2005.

The program will include the popular and new songs. The theme for the show is "Love Is In The Air," and features music that explores the many facets of love, including "Love Is In The Air," "Lulu’s Back In Town," "Sitting On Top of the World," "Breaking Up Is Hard to Do," and an old Arthur Godfrey tune, "Love Ukulele Style." It promises to be a fun and interesting program.

Tickets can be purchased from chorus members, at the door or by calling Diwon at (231) 592-5328. Seating is limited.
