Pastor’s Pen: No one like him
In Numbers 22-24 we read about Balaam, a man who talks to those in the spirit world, attempting to make deals with them so they will curse the people they have told they will bless.
He attempts to get the one true God to do the same thing to the nation of Israel. He offers sacrifices and works sorcery thinking that God will change His mind and curse the people that He has promised to bless and has promised to give a new land. Balaam, however, learns that this God is different.
He isn’t like men, the way others in the spirit world were. He would not lie to His people. He loved them and remained faithful to them. He was a God who not only had the power to care for His people, but the integrity to keep His promises. He is truly a great God!
That is the same God I worship today. He is faithful, honest, almighty and loving. He provides for me, encourages me, disciplines me and teaches me. He is a God worthy of all praise. Jeremiah 10:6-7 puts it this way, “No one is like You, LORD; You are great, and Your Name is mighty in power. Who should fear You, King of the nations? This is Your due. Among all the wise leaders of the nations and in all their kingdoms, there is no one like You.”
There is none like the One, True, Great God! Praise Him and Serve Him today!
