OSCEOLA COUNTY — Are you one of the many women who long for the days when you sang in your school choir?

Do you wish your daughters or granddaughters had the same opportunity you had as a youngster to sing together in a choral group?

Here’s your chance.

This year’s Reed City Crossroads Festival is going to feature a chorus of area women and girls in a fun outdoor concert at the Reed City Depot.

An invitation is going out for female singers to join the Crossroads Festival Women’s Chorus. It is hoped that this will be an inter-generational group of singers. Daughters, Mothers, and Grandmothers are encouraged to come and join the fun. Any female singer age 12 and up is welcome. This summer music program is jointly sponsored by the Osceola Community Chorus and the Crossroads Harmony Chorus of Sweet Adelines.

This event is free and all music will be provided at no charge by the sponsoring organizations. Meetings will be held on Monday evenings at Reed City United Methodist Church from 6-7:30 p.m. The first rehearsal will be held on Monday, June 13 and will continue each Monday throughout the summer. The final concert will be performed on Saturday, August 20 at 2 p.m. Singers can sign up at any of the 3 meetings in June.

The program will include Pop Songs, Show Tunes, Patriotic and Traditional music. All will be easy to learn and fun to sing. No audition is required. The chorus will be under the direction of Jim Whitten.

So, no matter whether you can belt out the high notes or just croon way down low, there’s a spot waiting for you in the first ever Crossroads Festival Women’s Chorus. Come be a part of it this summer.

And be prepared to sing all your cares away!
