EMS students participate in community clean-up event

EVART — On Monday, May 2, Evart Middle School students and staff members spread out across the Evart community for the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of citizens by participating in the annual Community Clean-Up” effort.

Each year, EMS ambassadors work at local residences, parks and along streets in an effort to improve the beauty of their community.

It is here where the seeds of belonging are planted. Being a part of a greater purpose, seeing themselves as part of larger group of people all with the same identity in common (it is our community, our town, our commitment) is a by-product of the service event that is cultivated and grown.

As Margaret Mead states, “Never doubt that a small group of people can change the world.” Changing lives, changing the community. Students learning servant-hood and the art of giving back. The students and staff at EMS hope that their efforts, though they may seem small, help to bring a brighter glow to the place called home.
