Come sing with the Sweet Adelines

By Jim Whitten

Director of Crossroads Harmony Chorus; Sweet Adelines, International

Crossroads Harmony Chorus of Sweet Adelines is preparing our yearly Holiday Concert for Saturday, Dec. 12, and Sunday, Dec. 13, and here is a unique opportunity for you to be a small part of it.

As part of the celebration we have decided to host what we are calling a FRIENDSHIP SONG on our program. This is a special chance to share our love for four-part women’s accapella singing with our friends and neighbors. We would love to have you join us in singing the traditional Christmas classic, "Let It Snow."

Here’s how it works:

Send an e-mail to CrossroadsHarmony@gmail.com and tell us you want to sing. Also, tell us which voice part you plan to sing. We will then email you a copy of the music and a listening file that you can use to to learn the song on your own.

We will open up two rehearsals — both at 6 p.m. on Tuesday evenings — Dec. 1 and Dec. 8 — in St. Paul Lutheran Church of Reed City. It is on 4 Mile Rd, just west of 220th Ave., or Patterson Road. You are welcome to sing with us on our show if you can make one or both of these rehearsals, and then join us on our  7 p.m. Saturday night and 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon shows. We want you to come even if you can participate in only one of the concerts. If you have questions, you may call me at (231) 349-3605.

If you are a former member, prospective member or just want a one-time chance to sing in our chorus, please send us your email as soon as possible. C’mon. It’s going to be fun!
