Amerigas hosts pet food drive, ARC a beneficiary

BIG RAPIDS — AmeriGas Propane is taking a step to ensure care of local shelter animals.

From now until May 1, 18 AmeriGas Propane area locations will be holding a pet food and supply drive for northern Michigan’s shelter animals. The Animal Rescue Coalition of Mecosta County is one of those recipients.

"Many of our employees are pet owners and appreciate the special place these animals have in our families,” said Bob Maser, area director for AmeriGas. “We felt a responsibility to do whatever we could to help organizations that take care of pets waiting to find their forever home."

Supplies may be dropped off at designated AmeriGas, Holton’s, or Rural Gas locations from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Monday to Friday.

"We greatly appreciate community efforts to help us feed our dogs and cats and to keep them as healthy as possible," said ARC Director Cate Arroe. "Thank you to the kind employees of AmeriGas for thinking of us."
