‘What’s Our Worth?’ Does our mind turn to the things of the world? Some may look only at their position in life, others at bank accounts or investments, some the homes they live in or the ‘bigger’ toys! It may depend on who we are trying to impress, then we may need to ask, do they really care? I had a good friend that told me he had stopped to consider what in his life did he ‘need’ and what were his possessions that were created by ‘want,’ The desire of ‘want’ can take us down a steep path that can be hard to climb out of! ‘What’s Our Worth?’ Is it worth the love that God has for us? Is it worth the ‘Blood’ that was shed for us? Do we take the time to consider the pain and the tortured body of our Lord Jesus Christ, He endured for us? Isaiah 52:14 tells us: “But many were amazed when they saw him (Jesus). His face was so disfigured he seemed hardly human, and from his appearance, one would scarcely know he was a man.” As Easter celebrations draw near, is this the only time we are reminded of the sacrifice He made for us? Do we value the cost that Jesus paid for us so we could have a renewed relationship with God, His Father! We are told of the worth that God has put on us, we can not purchase it, we can not earn it! It is a free Gift, ours only by confessing Jesus as our Lord and Savior! ‘What’s Our Worth?’ Once we make the confession that Jesus died for us, then we will have the Holy Spirit living within us, stop and think about that God Himself is living inside of us! Hallelujah, that adds more worth or value to us than any material things we can possibly possess! Let’s praise our loving Father! — Ron Witbeck is an associate pastor at Resurrection Life Church in Big Rapids.
