Pastor David Stiles Baldwin Baptist Church You may decide how to live your life as you wish. However, the Bible gives you a hint how to do it best. The Word of God states, "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones."(Prov. 17:22) How important is a merry heart to our life? What is your focus during these holidays? Do you focus on the God with the answers and rejoice? Or do you focus on the evil in life and dry up your bones? Have a merry Christmas and life. Look to the great God that has provided a Saviour from the glories of heaven. From the book of wisdom we see, "All the days of the afflicted are evil: but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast."(Prov.15:15) Why continue to live a tormented life being afflicted by evil, when your situation doesn't need you to? Won't you begin to live above your circumstances? Yes, there are challenges in this life. God has the answers. Look to him. During these days, especially have a merry Christmas and life. Our God is with us. Rejoice! "Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."(Heb 13:5) It is enough to have Jesus, even if I have nothing else. We need to be merry in life, no matter what. Who is with you? Have you trusted Christ as Saviour? If you have, be merry in these days. Maybe you can't be merry because you don't have Jesus as your personal Saviour. Then trust Jesus today. Don't wait and don't hesitate. Relief is on the way. Through Christ you can have peace. Make great progress in life by setting aside seasonal covetousness and take on contentment. Have a merry Christmas because Christ came from eternity past to help you. Jesus came to, "Seek and to save that which was lost."(Lu.19:10) Will you respond to his call? A relationship with him will bring forgiveness of your sins. What a gift at Christmas time to enjoy! Remember the Bible says, "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."(Rom. 6:23) You don't work for gifts, but you still must receive them. You can rejoice and be merry. If your eternity is settled, many problems don't seem as bad. Be merry at Christmas and beyond. "Godliness with contentment is great gain."(1 Tim. 6:6) Stop looking at others and what they have. The Bible says, "Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the Lord all the day long. For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off."(Prov.23:17,18) Start looking to almighty God. The Lord Jesus Christ loves you and will give you peace in life. Trust Him now. Have a merry Christmas and life. You can have a merry Christmas and beyond.
