PASTOR'S PEN: The Great Divide

Can you believe what is going on right in front of our eyes? We can see the division between fellow Americans, families, and friends. In many cases it has been created by fear as it has raised its ugly head. We hear about it daily!

It is being suggested that we should report others to the authorities if we suspect they are, in our minds causing harm, to us or others. Some may become offended simply because someone is not wearing a mask or vaccinated. We are not to be policing others or to judge!

With all of the affairs of the world, our nation, and our surrounding communities being subjected with their own problems, it can become overwhelming. Instead of allowing fear to affect us, and those closest to us, we should be going to our knees taking every concern to our God.

Could we be allowing ‘The Great Divide’ to consume and destroy everything that this Nation was founded on? God has been our center even when our founding Fathers put their own lives on the line in signing the ‘Declaration of Independence’ and our ‘Constitution’ that provided Freedom for us within the borders of the United States of America.

We have witnessed God being taken out of the schools, removing Him from most governing buildings, and at times trying to remove God from our pledge of allegiance, the words ‘one nation under God’ failing at every attempt. Now the attack has been against the history of America!

Attempting now with ‘The Great Divide’ which is attacking our lives as we know it. Rather than fear let’s turn to God, lifting our Nation, our families and our neighbors up to God. Let’s find peace and rest in the Words of Jesus, John 14:27;

“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

Peace to you all!
